Editorial Policy
Our principles for accurate, respectful and useful content about the Tiranga.
Purpose and audience
Tiranga Our Pride aims to help students, families, teachers and institutions understand India's national flag: its history, meaning, rules of display and the traditions associated with it.
Sources
Our articles are original writing based on reliable sources. We give priority to primary and official sources such as the Flag Code of India published by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Constituent Assembly Debates, Acts of Parliament, judgments of the Supreme Court of India and official government announcements, supported by reputable histories and reference works.
Facts and interpretations
We clearly separate established facts from popular interpretations. For example, the official description of the flag specifies its colours and the 24-spoke Ashoka Chakra, while the meanings sometimes attached to each spoke are presented as interpretations, not official definitions.
Respect for national symbols
We present the national flag and other national symbols with dignity. We do not publish content that mocks or disrespects them, and we do not use the flag in ways discouraged by the Flag Code.
Accuracy and corrections
If you believe an article contains an error, email us with the page URL, the passage concerned and a reliable source. We review every correction request and update articles when needed. Significant updates are reflected in the content.
Advertising and independence
The website may be supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. Ads are kept clearly separate from articles, and we never place ads in a way that could be confused with our content or navigation. Any sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labelled.
